Vijay Hazare Trophy Live Score: Rohit Sharma’s 155 secures Mumbai win; Virat Kohli’s 131 powers Delhi to victory

Vijay Hazare Trophy Live Score: The opening day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy delivered high drama and elite batting performances, with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli stealing the spotlight through magnificent centuries in their respective matches.

While the first half of the day featured record-breaking knocks across venues, it was the return of these two Indian stalwarts that truly defined the day.

Rohit Sharma made a memorable comeback to domestic one-day cricket by scoring a blistering century for Mumbai against Sikkim in Jaipur. Playing his first Vijay Hazare Trophy match in seven years, Rohit showed no signs of rust. Chasing a modest target of 236, he attacked the bowlers from the outset, striking boundaries at will.

Rohit brought up his century in just 62 balls, eventually finishing with a commanding 155. This innings marked his 37th List A century and moved him closer to the 14,000-run milestone in the 50-over format, adding to his impressive record of 33 international hundreds for India.

Not long after Rohit’s heroics, Virat Kohli delivered a masterclass of his own in Bengaluru. Returning to the Vijay Hazare Trophy after a gap of 15 years, Kohli anchored Delhi’s chase of 299 against Andhra Pradesh with a trademark century. His 83-ball hundred reflected control, confidence, and classic stroke play. The knock was Kohli’s 58th List A century and his third hundred in just four innings since the South Africa series earlier this month.

Kohli also achieved a historic milestone during the innings, becoming only the second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to reach 16,000 List A runs.

At 37, he now stands ninth overall to achieve this feat, joining a legendary list that includes Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Kumar Sangakkara, and Sir Vivian Richards.

Both Mumbai and Delhi won their opening matches in Vijay Hazare Trophy on Wednesday.
